If in doubt, take the red pill

As a business owner, you have to make dozens or maybe hundreds of decisions every day.

Success doesn’t come in giant leaps. It comes in small increments. (Read The Slight Edge by Jon Olsen for more on this - great book).

Often the decisions that fuel success are small. So small that they may not affect anything on a daily basis. Should I have the cookie or the apple? This decision won’t really affect you today, or tomorrow. But like compounding interest, consistent positive decisions build on themselves and result in an upward trend, while consistent poor decisions result in a negative trend. Over ten years, those cookies and apples add up! So be aware that the small decisions matter.

Since they seem inconsequential on a daily basis, how to decide? There must be exceptions to what follows, but I haven’t found them. If in doubt, do what’s harder.

If in doubt, take the red pill.
